Backwards Compatibility
By design, PROLIN Power Server is backwards compatible with legacy clients.
This ensures that older clients can connect to and work with your PROLIN Power Server instance without problems.
However, there are certain areas of the software that may not always be optimal in terms of performance or security.
In such cases, PROLIN Power Server can apply workarounds automatically when it detects that a specific version of PROLIN Smart Client is connected.
In most scenarios, you will automatically benefit from these enhancements when you upgrade your PROLIN Smart Suite environment, without requiring changes to your current setup.
If you experience problems in very specific scenarios, you can enforce backwards compatibility (which disables all optimizations) using the Advanced Settings configuration page in the Server Configuration section of the Server Management Console.
